Realtor's Golf Challenge Cup 2016

The 2016 Realtor’s Golf Challenge Cup was the second annual event benefiting Kids Against Cancer and Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health’s new Pediatric Oncology and Hematology wing. The Staten Island real estate community ranging across a variety of people, businesses, and professionals really came together to raise money for a great cause. SIBOR Director Ron Molcho, Broker and Owner of American Homes of Staten Island, chaired the Realtor’s Golf Challenge Cup with the support of committee members Mark Bosciano, Joseph Tirone, Scott Setaro, Diana Chaugell, and Annmarie Izzo. Not only did the community work for a great cause, they had a great time doing so at the Grand Oaks Country Club, Huguenot, Staten Island. Tee time started early in the morning on Wednesday June 22, 2016 with foursome teams created from local businesses including American Homes Group, Appleseed Realty Group, Rampulla Associates Architects, Freedom Mortgage, and Safari Realty.

Real estate professionals see New York City as ever-changing and growing; therefore they have a unique opportunity to be leaders for a better future. Those in the real estate industry want to continue the prosperity of the growing borough of Staten Island. When property development, home renovations, and kitchen demolitions are a constant, it’s wonderful to take a step back and help a hospital renovate for the sake of children…right in their backyard.

Staten Island Board of Realtors is the largest trade organization on Staten Island always looking to support the community as well as worthwhile causes near and far. After hearing Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health and Kids With Cancer needed funds to build the new wing, Staten Island Board of Realtors immediately set a plan on how the local real estate industry could help support the development of the pediatric treatment center. The new kid friendly environment will encompass video games, interactive touchscreens, a one-wall fish tank, a running waterfall, as well as a beautiful butterfly exposition. Children ranging from toddlers to teens with cancer and blood related disorders now have a fun and welcoming environment to escape to while they receive treatment at Staten Island University Hospital. The Kids Against Cancer Pediatric Oncology Center will be located on the second floor of the hospital’s Nalitt Building, 256C Mason Avenue.

American Homes Group thanks SIBOR leaders, participants, committee members, business owners, realtors, attorneys, and bankers for their generous contributions. A special thank you goes out to Staten Island University Hospital Northwell Health and Kids With Cancer for their work all year round.
